The Funnel Web air filter was designed and manufactured by Infiltration Pty Ltd, an Australian owned company that has over 30 years of experience in foam filters.

Foam air filters have been used on Off Road motorcycles for almost four decades and are now a standard part on the vast majority of Off Road motorcycles around the world.

The basic design of the foam filter has had little change since its inception, so we decided to do something about it.

We have used the latest technologies in open cell polyurethane foam profiling to substantially increase the surface area of the filter, not only offering more protection, but allowing the filter to last longer before cleaning and re-oiling.

Heavy duty injection molded urethane seals have been chosen for a precise fit, positive seal and strength across most of the range, whilst flexible neoprene seals are fitted to some filters, including the Minibike range.

Over the years, nearly two thousand filters have been tested in some of the harshest conditions imaginable to give us the confidence to bring Funnel Web to market.

With the invaluable help of the Motorex KTM Off-Road and JDR KTM Factory Racing teams, we have been fortunate to be able to use the best testbeds available: racing.

Along the way, Funnel Web filters have been fitted to KTM racing bikes and have played a small role in their numerous Australian racing and championship victories.

WHY CHOOSE A FUNNELWEB FILTER?

1. The foam!

Funnel Web's profile cut foam effectively doubles the outer surface area of the filters, without increasing the original size of the filters, allowing it to trap and retain much more dust on the outer surface, which means more protection for the engine while maintaining optimal airflow and extending filter service intervals.

Single layer, high density polyurethane foam has the added advantage of easy cleaning and the ability to maintain its original shape after numerous cleanings. Since dirt is spread over a much larger surface area, airflow restriction caused by dirt buildup is substantially minimized. Overall, compared to conventional foam filters, Funnel Web offers more protection against dirt ingestion, has longer service intervals, and maintains high airflow rates when dirty.

2. The filter seal!

Most FunnelWeb filter seals are manufactured from injection molded urethane for a durable, precise fit on the filter support frame and inside the air box. The foam seals, as fitted to other brands of filters, will tend to warp after a few cleanings, causing a poor fit to the support frame, possibly affecting the sealing ability of the filters. Not all filters in our range are suitable for molded seals and the few that are not feature neoprene/nitrile foam gaskets.

3. Development process

Funnel Web Filter has been developed for over five years with the assistance of the Australian KTM Race motocross and enduro teams. Numerous combinations of foam profiles and porosities have been tested under tough, dusty race and test track conditions to arrive at the ideal combination. More than 1,500 filters were manufactured, tested and repaired and reused, or cut up for inspection before any were available for sale.

4. Australian manufacturing

We specialize in manufacturing selected filters for off-road motorcycles. Our range will be expanded in the future to include other models and all-terrain vehicles.

All components and packaging are Australian made and the product is assembled in Australia. FILTER CLEANING AND OILING INSTRUCTIONS

The best place to repair your foam air filter is in a shop, not on the trails or in the pits. It is not only an extremely complicated job, but also one of the most important and must be done correctly.

Carrying 2 or 3 properly oiled air filters for the ride or race will save you the hassle of having to service the filter while you're out and about. Having a spare filter support frame is also a great idea. They are reasonably inexpensive, readily available, and make filter changes outside the shop much easier.

For best results, use only a specific foam filter oil and air filter cleaner to repair the filter. There are several brands of filter cleaners and oils readily available, designed specifically for
